The budget for the fiscal year 2020-21 is under review by the Board with many factors still unknown due to the coronavirus, the economy, and how the virus may affect future events. The Board plans to approve the budget in the next few weeks but will continue to watch things closely and make budget adjustments as needed over the next few months. As always, if you are interested in receiving a copy of the current budget, contact Angie Smith.

Several new items are included in that budget. In January, the Board of Directors finalized an agreement with the OSU Foundation for support in the amount of $9,000 over three years for the purchase of a tractor rake attachment for the turf program. A plaque has been placed on the rake attachment that credits OSA with the donation.

In more financial news, the Board of Directors pledged support to ODA for its specialty crop block grant, which grant was approved. The support includes $5,000 in direct contributions over two and a half years, and additional in-kind support for educational materials and workshops on seed regulations. Other groups are also partnering with ODA on the grant, including the Oregon Seed Council and Willamette Valley Specialty Seed Association.
